LEGL 2305 Law and Medicine

This course provides an introduction to the laws regulating the health care industry and emphasizes the paralegal’s role in obtaining and organizing medical records.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between the patient and the health care provider;
  2. demonstrate an understanding of the rights of a patient;
  3. demonstrate an understanding of the role of information management and reporting responsibilities in health care delivery;
  4. demonstrate an understanding of the role of civil liability and liability insurance on health care delivery; and
  5. demonstrate an understanding of the role of government in the regulation of health care delivery.


Prerequisite(s): LEGL 1300  with a “C” or better.
