Students are required to obtain malpractice insurance for participation in the EMT program. Malpractice insurance should be good for one year and purchased at the beginning of EMSA 1111.
In addition to tuition and lab fees, students may have additional cost ranging from $400 to $1000 to include uniforms, duty shoes, physical examiniations, laboratory tests, immunizations, graduation, certifications, and licensure fees.
The student must obtain a minimum grade of “C” in all AEMT classes in order to be eligible for the National Registry AEMT exam and to obtain State of Tennessee Licensure as an AEMT.
If the student is unsuccessful in any of the EMSA courses, the student must repeat that component within the next scheduled cycle or the student will be required to repeat the entire sequence of classes.
