The CIT Networking Specialist Technical Certificate Program emphasizes the skills needed to begin, or advance in, a career in the Networking technology field. Designed for high school graduates, those entering industry for the first time, or the industry professional wishing to build or renew skills, the program covers the major aspects of networking, network security, and interconnected Cisco devices. These areas include the base and in-depth concepts of networking, to include router and switch functionally and configuration, as well as the security processes necessary to secure these devices against threat actors. Documentation development is also emphasized. Prior to attempting this Certificate, students must possess proficiency in basic computer skills to include the use of word processing, spreadsheets, and OS file management.
All of the courses in the certificate program are applicable to the Computer Information Technology, Networking Concentration, A.A.S. and can lead to industry certifications offered by Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) and Cisco Systems, Inc.
