CCET 2204 Statics and Strength of Materials3 Credit Hour(s) The statics section covers problems solving techniques dealing with resultants, free-bodies, trusses, center of gravity, equilibrium, moment of inertia, and friction. The strength of materials section covers problem solving techniques dealing with stress and strain, direct and shearing stresses, torsion, bending, bolted and riveted connections, basic design of timber and steel beams and timber and steel columns, beam deflections, and statically indeterminate beams.
Prerequisite(s): MATH 1740 or MATH 1720 This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
