NRSG 1720 Medical Surgical Nursing I 7 Credit Hours [5 lecture hours; 2 clinical hours (minimum 12 contact hours per week per 7-week term)] Credit Hour(s) This course applies the core concepts that provide the basis for the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are essential for providing safe nursing care, including pharmacological management for adults with alterations in health that are primarily chronic in nature. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to meet the eight (8) core competencies as evidenced by:

Prerequisite(s): NRSG 1710 , NRSG 1120 and BIOL 2010 This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities.
