BIOL 1080 Concepts of Biology & Lab 4 Credit Hour(s) This is a survey course in biology. This course provides an introduction to the biological sciences, including scientific method, structure and function of cells, metabolism, genetics, evolution, diversity of life, and ecology. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- understand basic biological concepts and apply to all professions and in daily life
- use scientific method as a form of critical thinking and inquiry
- appreciate the diversity and interdependency of life
- possess basic laboratory skills for measurement and observation
Prerequisite(s): Completion of or exemption from learning support reading and math competencies
