ENST 2342 Advanced CNC Programming 3 [2 lecture hours + 3 lab hours] (5 contact hours/week)] Credit Hour(s) Credit Hour(s) A state-of-the-art machining course that expands the computer-assisted programming skills presented in CNC Milling and CNC Turning. The course includes 3D surface and solid modeling, four-axis programming, bar feeder applications, and modification of post-processors. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Create, input milling properties, and simulate cutting operation of 3-D surface and solid modeling features by computer-assisted methods.
- Create, input milling properties, and simulate cutting operation of 4-axis features by computer-assisted methods.
- Calculate and input bar feeder variables in controller.
- Align 4-axis chuck and tailstock.
- Develop and test a post-processor for specific outputs.
Prerequisite(s): ENST 2341 or approval of the program coordinator. This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university they intend to transfer to for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about the transferability of credits.
