ENST 2382 Fundamentals of Mechatronics

Automation systems that include a focus on mechanics, electrical, fluid power systems, computer systems, and the integration of such to achieve machine movement control, integration of robotics, and computer networking to develop a comprehensive and cohesive production sequence.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • Explain the basic operation of each station of a mechanized production system.
  • Program PLC equipment to control the various stages of a mechanized production system.
  • Troubleshoot a mechanized production system.


This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university they intend to transfer to for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about the transferability of credits.
