HSER 1520 Methods of Substance Abuse Treatment3 Credit Hour(s) This course emphasizes real-world applications in approaches to therapy as described in the counseling theories course. Routine activities that take place in typical substance treatment settings are presented. Primary settings covered are inpatient, outpatient, and the modality of day treatment. Family dynamics models, including codependency and adult children of alcoholics will be covered.
Prerequisite(s): HSER 1500 This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits
