INMT 1611 Control Systems Technician Fundamentals4 Credit Hour(s) This course combines basic industrial instrumentation and controls theory with hands-on training in the laboratory. Course topics include level, pressure, temperature, and flow measurement and basic control strategies. Laboratory exercises will cover measurement exercises, instrument calibration, thermocouples, resistance thermo detectors (RTD’s), wiring, tube bending, and troubleshooting. Safety will be emphasized throughout the course. This course is designed to provide experienced electricians with a basic knowledge of industrial instrumentation and controls. A sound working knowledge of DC and AC electricity is needed to be successful in this course. This course may be used as an INMT technical elective.
This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
