INMT 1622 Advanced Fundamentals of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration3 Credit Hour(s) This course is designed to teach students with some HVAC experience the principals and techniques of troubleshooting central heating and air conditioning systems. Strong emphasis is placed on repairing electrical problems. The course covers the theory, function and application of electrical and electronic controllers and control devices used in HVAC systems. The components of central heating and cooling systems, water coolers, ice machines, air handlers, walk-in and reach-in coolers and freezers, and domestic refrigeration units are taught in detail using diagrams and schematics. The course is taught in accordance with Shelby County code requirements. .
Prerequisite(s): INMT 2124 or equivalent experience This course may be used as an INMT technical elective.
This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
