READ 0810 Reading Learning Support I

This software-based, individualized instruction course covers the two TBR approved reading competencies. The first competency consists of the following skills and strategies on the intermediate level: Main ideas, Supporting details, Organization/Relationships, Vocabulary development, Critical reading/logic, and Strategic reading. The second competency consists of the same skills on the advanced level. Students must master the first competency to receive a grade of “C” or higher. Students who complete both competencies before the end of the term may exit early. Students who do not complete the second competency will enroll in READ 0820.

Prerequisite(s): ACT Reading score 13-18 or equivalent.
