This program is designed to prepare graduates for the electronic graphic arts industry. Emphasis will be placed on page layout, typography, color process, scanning, quality control, illustration, and prepress production. All courses are taught using the Macintosh computer.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the Graphic Arts Technology Degree Program:
- Students will be able to create vector-based illustrations through the use of industry-based templates and tools. (GART1000-I, GART1070-I, GART2070-M)
- Students will be able to manipulate object-oriented graphics through various techniques. (GART1000-I, GART1070-I, GART2070-M)
- Students will be able to assemble practical print layouts using text, vector-based illustrations, and pixel-based images. (GART1040-I, GART1070-I, GART1080-I, GART2040-M, GART2070-M, GART2080-M)
- Students will be able to combine skills in design, typography, and pre-press production to achieve design excellence. (GART1002-I, GART1004-I, GART1005-I, GART1040-I, GART1070-I, GART1080-I, GART2040-M, GART2070-M, GART2080-M)
