LEGL 1450 Alternative Dispute Resolution3 Credit Hour(s) This course provides an overview of dispute resolution mechanisms used in the American legal system such as negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. Students explore the various statutes, regulations, and ethical standards applicable to alternative dispute resolution and learn the basic skills needed to work with parties in conflict.
Prerequisite(s): LEGL 1040 with a grade of “C” or better This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
