CITC 1316 Game Scripting 3 Credit Hour(s) This course introduces students to scripting languages used in the video game development industry. Students will learn the basic constructs of a scripting language and demonstrate their ability to use it in a meaningful way with projects. Also explored in this course ties between scripting languages and other languages such as C/C++.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate understanding of scripting syntax and common applications.
- Demonstrate understanding of how to link the scripting API into another language such as C++.
- Demonstrate understanding of scripting tools and how they are used in an application.
- Demonstrate knowledge of proper script writing etiquette and commenting.
- Demonstrate knowledge of debugging and running script programs.
Prerequisite(s): CITC 1300 and CITC 1310 This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
