WELD 2372 Gas Tungsten Arc Welding

Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW)  is  the use of  a nonconsumable electrode made of tungsten  electrode  to produce the weld .In this class an emphasis  is placed on the  making of fillet and groove welds in all positons with the GTAW process.

Student Learning Outcomes

  • Successfully pass the AWS D1.1 Plate certification for GTAW limited thickness. 
  • Set-up and operate GTAW welding equipment.
  • Calculate the cubic foot per hour of inert gas for welding.

This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
