Effective: Spring 2022
The Aviation Administration Concentration in the Aviation Operations Technology Program will focus on preparing students to enter the workforce as entry level employees in aviation/flight departments in crew scheduling, flight coordination, flight safety, etc. The course work will utilize and integrate existing general education courses at Southwest. Professional courses include aviation weather, safety, regulations and legal issues, private pilot ground school, environment of air traffic controller, aviation management, airport management, unmanned aerial vehicles and systems, aviation and airport security, air cargo operations, flight operations management, and Aviation Operations Internship.

Third Semester: 15 Credit Hours
Fourth Semester: 15 Credit Hours
Total Program Credits: 60
This program of study is designed as a terminal degree for a specific career field.
1Satisfactory completion of FAA Private Pilot written test required for CH award.
2Students must select one (1) of the following three (3) Guided Electives: HIST 2060 or SOCI 1010 or SOCI 1040
3All AOTP courses (or flight-related) must be taken in the sequence shown.
