The Flight Dispatcher Track in the Aviation Operations Technology Program will focus on preparing students to enter the workforce as professional flight dispatchers. The course work will utilize and integrate existing general education courses at Southwest with existing professional pilot and ground training courses. Professional courses include aviation weather, safety, regulations and legal issues, private pilot ground school, instrument ground school, environment of air traffic controller, aircraft engines, structures and systems, advanced aircraft operations, flight dispatcher, international flight planning and ETOPS, and Aviation Operations Internship.

Third Semester: 15 Credit Hours
Fourth Semester: 15 Credit Hours
Total Program Credits: 60
This program of study is designed as a terminal degree for a specific career field.
1Satisfactory completion of FAA Private Pilot written test required for CH award.
2Satisfactory completion of FAA Instrument Rating written test required for CH award.
3Students must select one (1) of the following three (3) Guided Electives: HIST 2060 or SOCI 1010 or SOCI 1040
4All AOTP courses (or flight-related) must be taken in the sequence shown.
