LEGL 2305 Law and Medicine 3 Credit Hour(s) This course provides an introduction to the laws regulating the health care industry and emphasizes the paralegal’s role in obtaining and organizing medical records. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between the patient and the health care provider;
- demonstrate an understanding of the rights of a patient;
- demonstrate an understanding of the role of information management and reporting responsibilities in health care delivery;
- demonstrate an understanding of the role of civil liability and liability insurance on health care delivery; and
- demonstrate an understanding of the role of government in the regulation of health care delivery.
Prerequisite(s): LEGL 1300 with a “C” or better.
