MECH 2320 Motor Control 3 (2 lecture hours; 3 lab hours) Credit Hour(s) A study of the principles of AC and DC motors, motor control, and general machine operations in a mechatronic system including functions and properties of machine control elements and the roles they play within the system. Topics include general machine operations and motor control techniques. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe and illustrate the interaction of AC and DC motors and their control mechanisms within a mechatronic system.
- Implement motor control strategies, including voltage and frequency control techniques.
- Apply safety procedures and best practices while operating motor control systems.
This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
