AOTP 1540 Commercial Pilot Simulator I 2 Credit Hour(s) This course uses Advanced Aviation Training Devices (AATDs) to expose students to a wide variety of operating and flight conditions, advanced flight planning and navigation, in-flight decision making, and emergency situations. Students will ‘fly’ approximately 30 hours on the AATDs. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate the operation of aircraft in accordance with FARs, AFMs, and approved procedures and policies.
- Demonstrate methods in VFR/IFR flight planning and demonstrate the ability to make a valid go / no-go decision.
- Demonstrate situational awareness.
- Demonstrate effective decision-making skills.
Prerequisite(s): Student must hold FAA Instrument Rating Certificate Corequisite(s): AOTP 1520 This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
