BUSN 2347 Principles of Financial Mgmt & Budgeting

This course covers the fundamental principles of accounting and finance related to business operations, including accounting and financial terms, financial statements, accounting ratios, budgeting, forecasting, time value of money, investment decisions, and break-even analysis. 

 
Student Learning Outcomes:
​Upon successful completion, students will be able to:

  • Identify and apply the fundamental concepts and essential tools of finance, such as financial statements, time value of money, and interest rates. 
  • Interpret and analyze financial information to make business decisions. 
  • Prepare capital budgeting models using decision models, cash flow estimates, and the cost of capital. 
  • Evaluate and apply the concepts of financial planning and performance evaluation to different work scenarios, including forecasting, ratio analysis, and working capital management. 
  • Be able to define the business life cycle and recognize how raising capital fits into this crucial concept. 


This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
