ADMN 2375 Career Development and Planning 3 (3 lecture hours) Credit Hour(s) Career Planning and Development builds bridges from classroom to career. Practical assignments connect students directly with the business community, employers, and the Internet. This course provides students with knowledge to gain a competitive advantage in the workplace through career self-assessment and job search, resumé and cover letter writing, interviewing, and job-building strategies. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify job strengths and match them to the best possible job and career targets
- Prepare professional resumes and cover letters, including electronic resumes
- Manage the application process
- Interview and incorporate appropriate follow-up techniques
- Apply techniques on the job to promote career success
- Use the internet to increase job search and career management processes
This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university they intend to transfer to for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about the transferability of credits.
