METC 1320 Fluid Mechanics 3 [2 lecture hours + 3 lab hours (5 contact hours/week)] Credit Hour(s) A study of fluid mechanics to include pressure, fluid flow, fluid energy, system losses, and system analysis. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply the basic properties of mass, specific weight, specific gravity, and density.
- Associate and apply the concepts of energy and losses to various types of fluid flow
- Associate the concepts of pressure and elevation
Prerequisite(s): MATH 1750 , PHYS 2010 , or approval of program coordinator. This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university they intend to transfer to for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about the transferability of credits.
