METC 1350 Plant Layout and Materials Handling 3 [2 lecture hours + 3 lab hour (5 total contact hours/week)] Credit Hour(s) This course is a practical study of facilities planning with emphasis on the most efficient arrangement of work areas to achieve the lowest production costs. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Interpret facility layout and design techniques.
- Create CAD-based facility and process layouts.
- Describe supply chain and manufacturing processes.
Prerequisite(s): MEET 1230 , INET 1004 or approval of program coordinator. This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university they intend to transfer to for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about the transferability of credits.
