Computer Information Technology, Systems Administration and Management Concentration, A.A.S.

The Systems Administration and Management Concentration focuses on the design, implementation, management and troubleshooting of computer systems. Required courses prepare students to acquire, install, configure, upgrade and secure standalone, networked and mobile systems. Areas of emphasis include Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems. Required courses are A+ Hardware and Software, Windows Desktop OS and Windows Server Administration.


Program Learning Outcomes:
  1. Utilize diverse disciplines to enhance communication, research, business and technology skills in the workplace.
  2. Execute programming languages in the process of design and implementation while developing and maintaining software.
  3. Develop effective problem-management and decision-making skills.
  4. Demonstrate various networking media and connections to explain the features and capabilities of networking software.
  5. Demonstrate skill and knowledge in preparation for industry-recognized certification examinations.

Total Program Credits: 60


This program of study is designed as a terminal degree for a specific career field.

1 Students will select one of the following CITC courses to complete the degree: CITC 1310 CITC 1314 CITC 1351 CITC 2311 CITC 2323 CITC 2340 CITC 2374 , or CITC 2399  

Note: If the student elects to use CITC 2399  for the CITC elective requirement, the student will be required to complete the CITC 2390  or a second CITC 2399  to meet the 60 credit hour program requirement.
