This program is designed to prepare graduates for careers in the Graphic Arts and Communications industries as interactive multimedia graphics production specialists. Emphasis will be placed on skills which will enable students to produce interactive multimedia products such as training and educational software products, digital interactive catalogs, sales presentation tools, interactive information kiosks, entertainment software (interactive movies, special interest titles and novels/stories) and Internet websites. All computer courses are taught using the Macintosh computer.
Program Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the Graphic Arts Technology Degree Program
- Students will be able to design, develop, and maintain web pages through the use of HTML coding and vector/pixel-based imaging. (GART1040-I, GART1070-I, GART2512-I/M, GART2040-M, GART2500-I/M, GART2522-M)
- Students will be able to capture and edit video footage for use in an interactive multi-media production. (GART2500-I, GART2516-I, GART2526-M)
- Students will be able to author a complete interactive multi-media production. (GART2512-I, GART2500-I, GART2516-I, GART2520-I/M, GART2522-M, GART2526-M)
- Students will be able to develop a highly competitive portfolio to display a skill set to aggressively seek a position in the graphic arts industry. (GART1200-I, GART1040-I, GART1070-I, GART1080-I, GART2040-M, GART2070-M, GART2080-M, GART2530-M)

This program of study is designed as a terminal degree for a specific career field.
1 Review General Education pages and/or consult advisor for correct selection.
2 Graphic Arts (GART) electives can be selected from any Graphic Arts course that is not listed above as part of the required concentration, or may include any visual art courses with the approval of the Department Chair. Electives can be taken in any semester as long as course prerequisites have been satisfied.
