The mission of the Mathematics department is to provide the mathematical skills required for career and transfer programs, and to prepare students for success in a culturally diverse environment. Additionally, the Mathematics department’s courses also fulfill the general education requirements for all Southwest degree programs. This degree is intended for students who intend to major in Mathematics or a related discipline of study at a university.
