INET 2014 CNC Machining3 Credit Hour(s) This course introduces students to the principles and concepts of CNC (Compter Numerical Control) machining. Topics include safety, NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills) standards for CNC operations, 3D axis orientation and alignment, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, print reading, job setup and layout, tool selection, tool wear, system lubrication, precision measurements and tolerancing, and quality assurance.
Prerequisite(s): MEET 1144 or approval of program coordinator This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
