INET 1220 Precision Measuring Techniques3 Credit Hour(s) This course builds upon basic metrology skills covered in MEET 1144 to present more advanced methods of measurement and data collection for industry. These methods include computer-based laser, optical, digital and automation. Equipment covered includes Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Configurable Vision Inspection Modules (CVIM), optical comparators, robots and sensors. The hands-on use of high-tech equipment and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) is emphasized as well as the statistical use of data. The student is introduced to quality assurance and inspection documentation.
Prerequisite(s): MEET 1144 , ENTC 1124 or approval of program coordinator This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
