CITC 2355 Network Attacks3 Credit Hour(s) Encompasses in-depth exploration of various methods for attacking and defending a network. Explores network security concepts from the viewpoint of hackers and their attack methodologies. Includes topics about hackers, attacks, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) malicious code, computer crime and industrial espionage.

- explain the professional hacker’s methodology for attacking a network
- explain the script kiddie’s methodology for attacking network
- explain network security vulnerabilities
- explain hackers, hacker techniques, tools and methodologies
- describe hacker motivation
Prerequisite(s): CITC 2326 This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree.
