ECON 2100 Principles of Macroeconomics

This course introduces and explores a variety of macroeconomic topics including aggregate supply and demand, market equilibrium, Gross Domestic Product, employment, inflation, money and banking, monetary policy, fiscal policy, the national debt, and international trade.
Student Learning Outcomes:
In addition to the TBR State General Education Outcomes, upon completion of the course, the student should be able to:

  • Interpret supply and demand models. 
  • Recognize how business cycles affect the economy.
  • Identify what the GDP measures and how it is formulated.
  • Analyze the role of the Federal Reserve in Monetary Policy.
  • Illustrate the role the executive branch of the federal government plays in Fiscal Policy.


Prerequisite(s):  ENGL 0810 READ 0810  or equivalent.
