PLBT 1300 Phlebotomy Didactic 3 Credit Hour(s) This course introduces students to basic concepts in phlebotomy. Topics addressed include selection and use of phlebotomy equipment, patient identification, site selection and preparation. The proper procedure for performing venipuncture and skin puncture will be taught in a simulated environment. The student will practice proper technique on model training arms. This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
