ENGL 2116 Writing on the Web

3 Credit Hour(s)


Topics include critiques of current Web pages, how to convert business documents into web content that is fresh, and essential skills for 21st-century business writing.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to do the following:

  1. Analyze and evaluate web content, particularly in light of the unique characteristics of this writing format and audience.
  2. Draft, examine, and revise web content to enhance readability.

This course is also designed to help students develop and enhance skills in the following areas:

  1. Learning to apply course material (to improve thinking, problem-solving, and decisions)
  2. Developing specific skills, competencies, and points of view needed by professionals in the field most closely related to this course
  3. Learning to analyze and critically evaluate ideas, arguments, and points of view
  4. Note: This course focuses on writing content for the Web, not on HTML or website design. 


This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
