LEGL 1316 Introduction to Legal Drafting and Legal Software 3 Credit Hour(s) This course is required for all students pursuing a degree in Paralegal Studies and emphasizes the various types of basic legal software used in legal environments. Students also learn basic rules for document drafting with a focus on grammar and punctuation. Student Learning Outcomes: The student who has completed Introduction to Legal Drafting and Legal Software should know or be able to:
1. recognize basic principles of legal correspondence;
2. identify formatting for basic legal documents;
3. distinguish significant characteristics of Adobe Acrobat in the law office;
4. recall important aspects of legal timekeeping and billing software; and,
5. indicate effective strategies for uses of presentation software.
