LEGL 1340 Family Law 3 Credit Hour(s) This course is required for all students pursuing a degree in Paralegal Studies. Students study the laws, procedures, and documents found in family law, and prepare various family law documents. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- locate the Tennessee statutes related to family law;
- describe how child support determinations are made;
- explain the factors used in child custody determinations;
- identify the grounds for divorce in Tennessee; and
- discuss the processes used in Tennessee paternity proceedings.
Prerequisite(s): LEGL 1300 with a “C” or better
