LEGL 1353 Juvenile Law 3 Credit Hour(s) This course focuses on the impact of the law on minors as victims as well as lawbreakers, and the contemporary juvenile justice system and its three major components of law enforcement, the juvenile court system, and corrections. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. describe the two most common models that show how society determines which acts are criminal.
2. define crime and identify the different types of crime.
3. list the essential elements of the corrections system.
4. explain the difference between the formal and informal criminal justice process.
5. contrast the crime control and due process models.
