CITC 1351 Principles of Information Assurance 3 Credit Hour(s) This is a beginning course in information assurance which examines the fundamentals of information assurance. The course will introduce topics such as the need for security, risk management, security technology, cryptography, and physical security. Also covered are legal/ethical issues and security policies. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify the threats and common attacks posed to information security and differentiate between threats and attacks to the information within systems.
- Define the application of information assurance to the business environment.
- Understand and explain security policies.
- Maintain information assurance programs.
Prerequisite(s): CITC 1308 or INFS 1010 This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
