FSED 2010 Funeral Home Management

Funeral Home Management is a course that introduces management principles for funeral home operations.  This includes human resources, financial, marketing, facilities, and office management as well as their application to the small business environment.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will demonstrate the ability to:

  1. Describe management functions as they relate to funeral service.
  2. llustrate concepts of funeral service management as related to client-families, community, personnel (staff), and professional associates.
  3. Differentiate the five areas of management and discuss their significance.
  4. Specify procedures related to disaster management.
  5. Discuss trends in funeral service.


Prerequisite(s):
Admission to AAS/FSE Program and FSED 1010 must pass all FSED designated courses with a grade of C or higher to progress to next level course 

This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
