FSED 2030 Embalming Practicum I 2 Credit Hour(s)  This course applies the theoretical aspects of an embalming operation. All embalming operations are performed under the direct supervision and instruction of a licensed embalmer and the Southwest Tennessee Community College Funeral Service Education faculty. Additional hours required. Student Learning Outcomes:  Upon successful completion of this course, the student will demonstrate the ability to:
	- Demonstrate the proper use of personal protective equipment.
 
	- Employ thorough cleaning and disinfection techniques.
 
	- Analyze proper techniques for body positioning and setting facial features.
 
	- Identify the location of vessels.
 
	- Recognize the proper techniques to raise vessels.
 
 
  Prerequisite(s):  Admission to AAS/FSE Program, BIOL 2010  and FSED 1010  ; must pass all FSED designated courses with a grade of C or higher to progress to next level course Corequisite(s): FSED 2020  ; must pass all FSED designated courses with a grade of C or higher to progress to next level course This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree.
