CITC 2374 Network Communication, Security and Authentication 3 Credit Hour(s) Covers an in-depth exploration of various communication protocols with a concentration on TCP/IP. Explores communication protocols from the point of view of the hacker in order to highlight protocol weaknesses. Includes Internet architecture, routing, addressing, topology, fragmentation and protocol analysis, and the use of various utilities to explore TCP/IP.

- Describe Authorization, Authentication, Confidentiality and Non-Repudiation.
- Define risk management and its role in creating the network security policy.
- Describe the risk management phases and the activities associated with each phase.
- Define the process of identifying attack surfaces/vectors and attack
- Describe network security goals, philosophy and decisions related to creating a written network security policy.
Prerequisite(s): CITC 1323 This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
