GART 2200 Digital Photography II 3 Credit Hour(s) This is an advanced digital photography course that will focus on photographic techniques that will elevate technical and conceptual skills. This course will cover information on camera use and functionality, composition and visual design, digital workflow and editing, studio lighting, and a range of topics related to commercial photography. The course is intended to provide students with the necessary exposure to the diverse applications of photography and is a continuation of Digital Photography I. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Assemble practical print layouts using text, vector based illustrations, and pixel based images. Combining skills in design, typography, and pre-press production to achieve design excellence.
- Design, develop, and maintain web pages through the use of HTML coding and vector/pixel based imaging.
- Develop a highly competitive portfolio to display a skill set to aggressively seek a position in the graphic arts industry.)
- Use digital camera functions as well as a working knowledge of other photographic equipment to produce technically competent images.
- Ability to develop creative solutions to visual photographic problems.
- Awareness of contemporary issues in commercial photography.
- Develop the ability to critically analyze and discuss photographic images.
- Demonstrate photographic lighting skills as they apply to commercial photography.
- Competency in key photographic techniques.
Prerequisite(s): GART 1200 This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about the transferability of credits.
