POLS 2035 International Relations 3 Credit Hour(s) This course is designed to provide you with a broad introduction to International Relations (IR). The course content will cover fundamental theories, issues, methods of inquiry, and terminology that comprise the study of IR as well as how those fundamentals help students to understand and to analyze selected aspects of current international politics. Students will learn about the major IR theories of realism, liberalism, and constructivism as well as related topics such as theories of conflict, decision-making theory, international organizations, and terrorism. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- developing a familiarity with basic concepts of international relations, and recognition of issues, analytical schemes, theoretical approaches and terms that characterize the critical, analytical, and academic study of political relations among the various international actors in the world today
- improving written communication skills, and exercising critical thinking and critical analysis skills.
