HPER 2550 Prevention and Care of Athletic Injury

This course provides students with basic knowledge and skills associated with exercise training methods, lifting techniques, spotting techniques, and health-related fitness testing procedures. The selection of developmentally appropriate exercises emphasized. The course covers a spectrum of exercise modalities while also delving into basic programming principles and instructional strategies for effective resistance/aerobic training.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate appropriate technique when performing resistance training exercises.                 
  • Select developmentally appropriate exercises.
  • Discuss principles associated with resistance/aerobic training.
  • Administer tests associated with health-related fitness,
  • Evaluate health-related fitness tests.
