The Electronic Technology program is largely laboratory oriented to provide the graduate with the skills and theory needed to repair electronic equipment in the service, remanufacture, repair, and refurbishment industries.  Students in this program study the fundamentals of digital, analog, and microprocessor electronics as they relate to the theory of the operation of electronic systems. Emphasis is placed on the use of test equipment and schematic diagrams in laboratory observations. Electronic Technology students are also trained in the proper use of small hand tools and hand-soldering techniques required for assembly and rework of modern electronic equipment. Graduates can find a variety of employment opportunities as technicians in fields such as consumer electronics, aviation electronics, biomedical electronics and computer service.

This program of study is designed as a terminal degree for a specific career field.

1 Review General Education pages and/or consult advisor for correct selection.

2 General Elective to be selected by the student in consultation with Electronic Technology advisor.

3 Technical Elective to be selected by the student in consultation with Electronic Technology advisor.

4 Students participating in the FAA Collegiate Training Initiative must complete MATH 1910 . This may require taking additional prerequisite courses.

5 Students must choose either CENT 1310   or INET 1004 . * Other technical courses may be approved by the program coordinator.

Note: Cooperative Education courses are available for this major.
