Graphic Arts Technology, Game Art and Design Concentration, A.A.S.

This program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the game/media field. UI/UX Design, Animation, VFX, and Game Design industries require being familiar with several multimedia programs. This concentration will introduce students to several software platforms. Emphasis will be placed on skills which will enable students to produce multimedia products such as informational graphics, websites, application designs, 3D models, 3D animations, motion graphics presentations, and interactive games. These skills equip graduates for careers as Game Testers, Junior Game Designers, 3D Modelers, Graphic Designers, Video Game Designers, Multimedia Artists, Animators and Game Artists. All computer courses are taught using the Macintosh computer.


Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this degree, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate technical proficiency and creative skills as related to the digital gaming field. 
  2. Manage files and content in a manner suitable for industry. 
  3. Create graphics applicable to gaming, marketing, advertising, educational, and interactive media that use 2D and 3D animation. 
  4. Demonstrate proficiency in game design, and visual communication. 
  5. Create a portfolio of deliverables from concept to final product.
