LEGL 2380 Civil Litigation Skills I 3 Credit Hour(s) This course is required for all students pursuing a degree in Paralegal Studies. Students are introduced to civil litigation and practice in federal and state courts. Jurisdiction and structure of the various court systems and procedural rules are explored. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. identify steps in the litigation process;
2. distinguish between jurisdiction and venue;
3. identify the structure of the civil court system;
4. express the proper format of pleadings; and,
5. differentiate aspects of the discovery process.
Prerequisite(s): LEGL 1300 and LEGL 1320 with a “C” or better
