INTR 2020 Spanish - English Interpretation and Translation 3 Credit Hour(s) Application of interpretation and translation techniques in Spanish to English and English to Spanish consecutive interpreting, simultaneous interpreting, sight, and written translation; application of fundamental skills and standards in a variety of simulated settings, especially problematic and cross-cultural circumstances. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Apply professional standards for interpretation and translation
- Practice norms and guidelines of government agencies and professional organizations
- Produce accurate interpretation of oral communication
- Produce accurate translation of written communication
- Demonstrate revising and editing skills
Prerequisite(s): INTR 2010 This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
