Health Sciences, A.A.S.

This is an AAS Health Sciences degree for students who are enrolled in, or already have, a Technical Certificate in one of the Allied Health areas below and want to continue their education to receive an Associate of Applied Sciences degree. Students will earn hours for the Technical Certificate, complete 15-16 hours from specified General Education classes, and complete 9 hours of coursework (Management and Leadership for Allied Health Sciences, Contemporary Issues, Medical Law and Ethics). Additional General Education classes will be taken as electives to total the required 60 hours for graduation. The combination of the Associate Degree, coupled with the Management and Leadership for Allied Health Sciences class, allows a student increased chances to achieve additional success in their chosen Allied Health field.

  • Additional elective (12-13) hours may be from certificate; one of the following departments: Mathematics, Natural Sciences, or Allied Health Sciences; or advisor approved. 
  • Students may be eligible to receive up to 30 credit hours through the Experiential Learning Portfolio.

Total Program Credits: 60


Students may be awarded up to 31-32 hours of credit based on their certifications in Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Medical Technician - Advanced, Laboratory Phlebotomy Technician, Medical Laboratory Assistant, or Pharmacy Technology.
