CCET 1010 Surveying I and Lab4 Credit Hour(s) This course covers the fundamentals of plane surveying, with practice in the use of the tape, level, and theodolite in making horizontal and vertical measurements. Fieldwork includes boundary surveying, topographic, profile and benchmark leveling, with procedures of keeping field notes and note reduction. Construction layout is covered. Instructions are given in survey calculations including traverse closure calculating by the Coordinate method. This course also introduces the student to Wild TC 1000 Electronic Total Station surveying equipment.
This course is not designed for transfer to four-year universities. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
